Dimethylpolysiloxane is a silicon-based organic polymer that can be used as an antifoaming agent in fruit and vegetable juices, also it is an anticaking agent in confectionery and flour products, and meanwhile an emulsifier in edible oils essentially free of water.

PDMS is added to many cooking oils (as an anti-foaming agent) to prevent oil splatter during the cooking process.
